A Little Self-Promotion

Hi all. I promise that I have some real posts ready to go live later this week. It has been a crazy couple of weeks and I want to share with you some of the news. First, I am opening … Continue reading

Project Update and an Awful Song

Today I am starting a new project.  I am recording some solo piano pieces.  My goal is to have a few different options for those who want to listen.  I am starting off with some sacred works, then have the plans for some pop and jazz arrangements, followed by some original works (maybe).  I am excited about these projects.  I think I enjoy being proactive.  Also in the works are some group classes for adults – drum circles, arranging at the piano, accompanying, and pure recreational music.  If you are in the Treasure Valley, Idaho area and interested in booking me, send me a message!  If you’re not in the Idaho area and still want to book me, contact me anyway!

Now, here is a cover of an 80s song for no real reason.

Preview

I wanted to share a preview of some pieces that I am pulling back up and going to slowly share with all of you. This particular piece is the 4th in a set of 6 short pieces. I performed this set as a part of my Master’s recital at the University of Oklahoma in November 2007. As I get them all uploaded, I will share the entire playlist with you. I am currently working on getting one of my favorite “fun” pieces ready to record. It is a piece I learned in high school but has stayed with me ever since – “Rocktata” – a piano prelude by Michael Valenti. It is so fun to play. I am also working on some Bach, Beethoven, and dare I say – some American music. In the meantime, enjoy this very short piece from my past.

Peace and Love,
The Mad Pianist

Project 2014 Introduction

I’m taking on a new project. I’m playing (and singing – yikes!) my way through the year. I have a list of pieces that I am going to record and remix/arrange. My goal is about 2-3 pieces a week. Do you have a favorite you’d like to hear? Would you like to collaborate on a piece? Contact me. I have a couple done and ready to put up here and hopefully tomorrow will be available for your listen. I’m sure that everything about this process will get better as the weeks progress. So, please be patient and hang in there with me. I’m looking forward to where this year will take me. I hope you’ll join me for this journey!
